PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for feeding and transporting a rectangular plate- like material to a forming machine while the deviation of angle and position of the rectangular plate-like material are corrected in response to the present deviation of angle and position in both X and Y directions of the rectangular plate-like material. SOLUTION: In this method for feeding and carrying rectangular plate-like material, the present deviation of angle and position in both the X and Y directions of the rectangular plate-like material sucked, retained and lifted are detected, so that the present deviation of angle of the rectangular plate-like material is corrected in response to the detected data, and the present deviation of position of the rectangular plate-like material is corrected by controlling carrying distance in both the X and Y directions of the rectangular plate-like material.
