PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method for an inkjet printer constituted to prevent stain wiped from on a nozzle face from adhering to an adjacent ink discharge opening or on a nozzle face in the periphery of the ink discharge opening as much as possible. SOLUTION: In the cleaning method for the inkjet printer which has a head with a plurality of nozzles aligned and a blade for cleaning nozzle faces where ink discharge openings of the nozzles are formed, the blade is rotated on the basis of a fulcrum set outside the head to execute cleaning via a sliding motion to the nozzle faces.
