MARKER FOR IDENTIFYING MAIN CULTIVAR OF RUSH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a judgment factor for identifying cultivars in the rush industry through identifying a DNA marker usable in rush cultivar identification. SOLUTION: The judgment factor is obtained by subjecting the main 17 cultivars of rush to the restriction enzyme landmark genome scanning (RLGS) technique to identify a DNA fragment specific to a superior rush cultivar 'Hinomidori' from among the genomic DNA fragments for these main cultivars. A specific base sequence in the DNA fragment serves as an important DNA marker for identifying the cultivar 'Hinomidori' from among rush cultivars. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
