PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a liquid storage vessel or a recorder having the same at a low cost and to improve stability or reliability for supplying a liquid to the vessel. SOLUTION: There is disclosed the liquid storage vessel for storing ink for image recording. A sub-tank unit 30 provided to the inkjet cartridge 20 comprises a vessel body 32 having an ink accommodating section 35 for accommodating ink, a ventilating passage 42 for communicating the ink accommodating section 35 to the external section of the vessel body 32, a gas/liquid separating membrane 41 disposed so as to communicate with the ventilating passage 42, and a capillary structure body 40 which is provided between the gas/liquid separating membrane 41 and the ink accommodating section 35, and is capable of generating a capillary force.
