<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new protein having neurotransmitter agonistic channel activity, to provide a DNA encoding the protein, to provide a screening method for a compound controlling the activity of the protein, and to provide the compound obtained by the method. <P>SOLUTION: The new protein which has an amino acid sequence (substantially) identical with a specific amino acid sequence is useful as a diagnostic marker or the like for such diseases as central nervous diseases, digestive tract diseases, hepatopathy, circulatory diseases, inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases, allergic diseases, thymopathic diseases, splenic diseases, immunodeficiency, cancer, rejection after organ transplantation and side effects due to carcinostatic therapy. The compound controlling the activity of the protein is useful as a prophylactic/therapeutic agent for such diseases as central nervous diseases, digestive tract diseases, hepatopathy, circulatory diseases, inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases, allergic diseases, thymopathic diseases, splenic diseases, immunodeficiency and cancer, inhibitor for the rejection after organ transplantation, or inhibitor for side effects due to carcinostatic therapy. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
