PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate work and thereby to shorten the term of work and reduce the working cost. SOLUTION: In a container crane 10, a pair of legs 11 are disposed to stand from a travel gear 13, main girders 12 provided with a hoist mechanism portion constituted of an operator cab 14, a hoist device 15 and a trolley 16 are installed between upper end portions of the legs 11. An engine power generation room 18 as a power source of the hoist mechanism portion and travel gear 13, and an electric machine room 19 are held between lower end portions of the legs 11. In the method for raising the container crane, after a connecting state of the travel gear 13 with the legs 11 is released, structure 30 for raising the container crane is inserted between the travel gear 13 and the legs 11, and then the structure is connected with the travel gear 13 and the legs 11 with connecting pins 31, 32.
