<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of increasing the cost due to the necessity of a motor with large driving force to drive a paper feeding board in a paper feeder of large capacity in the situation where image formation is carried out using recording paper sheet of various paper qualities. <P>SOLUTION: This paper feeder has a paper feeding board 52 for supporting many sheets of recording paper; a paper feeding means for carrying the recording paper sheet by sheet out of the paper feeding board; and a driving means for lifting the paper feeding board with the consumption of the recording paper sheet. The driving means has a front driving motor 60 for lifting the paper feeding board at the front end part, and a rear driving motor 70 for lifting the paper feeding board at the rear end part. The respective shafts rotated by the respective driving motors are provided with encoders 68, 78 and control means 92 for performing level control of the front end part and rear end part based on the rotation detection signals of the encoders. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
