<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder in which the image quality is enhanced by reducing unevenness of density occurring at the joint of recording heads. <P>SOLUTION: The image recorder performs recording of image data by arranging a plurality of recording heads each having a plurality of recording elements while providing a specified overlapping part in the arranging direction of the recording elements. A second image processing means 107 calculates a density correction signal based on a correction parameter being set depending on the positional shift of the recording elements among the plurality of recording heads in the arranging direction, and the signal value of at least one pixel adjacent to the switching position of image data from the recording element of one recording head to the recording element of the other recording head at the overlapping part, converts it into a quantized density correction signal having a quantized signal level inputtable to the recording head, and forms at least one recording dot adjacent to the switching position of a line including a pixel or a neighboring line based on the quantized density correction signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
