PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attaching device 32 of a peeling sensor for a printer wherein both a light emitting parts 21 and a light receiving part 22 of a transmission type peeling sensor 8 are attached to a printer body 2 side so that a sensor cord 24 of the peeling sensor 8 is not caught between a printer body 2 and a peeling cover 4 when the peeling cover 4 is opened/closed, the degree of freedom in designing an attaching structure or an opening/closing structure of the peeling cover is increased and the peeling sensor 8 is free from malfunction. SOLUTION: Keeping an eye on attaching a light emitting part 21 and a light receiving part 22 of a peeling sensor 8 to a printer body, and taking an arbitrary optical path between the light emitting part 21 and the light receiving part 22 with a prism 33, the light emitting part 21 and the light receiving part 22 of the peeling sensor 8 are attached to the printer body 2, and the optical path between the light emitting part 21 and the light receiving part 22 is formed through a prism 33.
