PURPOSE: A video call interworking system between a wideband mobile communication network and a very high speed Internet network, and a method therefor are provided to perform a video call between a WCDMA(Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) 3G(Generation) mobile communication terminal and a very high speed Internet terminal. CONSTITUTION: A video interworking subscriber information register(136) registers very high speed Internet subscriber information including an Internet ID and a telephone number of a very high speed Internet subscriber. A gatekeeper(134) registers the telephone number of the very high speed Internet subscriber, which is registered in the video interworking subscriber information register(136), and an IP(Internet Protocol) address corresponding to the telephone number of the very high speed Internet subscriber. The gatekeeper(134) converts the telephone number of the very high speed Internet subscriber into the IP address corresponding to the telephone number of the very high speed Internet subscriber. A gateway(132) performs a conversion function between a protocol mounted on WCDMA terminals(112,114) and a protocol mounted on very high speed Internet terminals(152,154), and processes video call setup between the WCDMA terminals(112,114) and the very high speed Internet terminals(152,154).
