PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger a single unit of which is capable of coping with plural types of electric vehicles(EVs) and to different cable connection types and has good handloability. SOLUTION: A charger starts supplying power, when a charging start switch is turned on after a charging time has been set and stops supplying the power, when the charging time is finished, and calculates a charging fare in accordance with the output signal of a watthour meter. A power supply system has a single power supply line, to which a plurality of branch lines 33a-33d are connected, and connecting means 14, 15, 18a, 19a, 18b, and 19b which have respective connection structures corresponding to the cable connection types of an EV and are connected to the respective branch lines via junctions RL1a-RL4a. An operation system has a charge time setting means 24, the charge start SW 12 and a cable connection type selecting means 22 for selecting to which of the junctions the contact paint is to be connected to. A control system sets a charge time by a charge time setting means 24 for making the on-operation of the charge start switch effective and puts the cable connection type selecting means 22 into an active state by the operation of the charge start switch. |
