PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding method and a welding set for compensating an output voltage when the length of a cable connecting the welding set and a welding torch is changed. SOLUTION: In measuring a total resistant value, since a contact tip 5 and a welding object 7 are brought into contact with each other, contact resistance between a wire 6 and the contact tip 5 is not included in a measured result, the resistance of an extended cable can be measured accurately and the compensation for a prepared welding voltage can be made accurately. Since the contact tip 5 and the welded object 7 are brought into contact with each other, the wire 6 is not welded with a welded object, and since output power is controlled by compensating the voltage drop of only the resistant value of the extended cable, a suitable welding bead can be formed.
