PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating wastewater which treats wastewater stably and efficiently, and a device therefor. SOLUTION: In the method for treating the wastewater, the wastewater is treated by aggregation and precipitation after addition a weighting agent to improve a aggregation performance of the wastewater and to accelerate flocculation. After the weighting agent and/or an inorganic flocculant and/or an organic polymer flocculant are added to the wastewater, the wastewater is treated by aggregation and precipitation. Preferably, the weighting agent is ceramic powder such as gypsum, glass cullet porcelain and hydrophilic clay mineral. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
