<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel undaria peptide, i.e., L-isoleucyl-L-tyrosine, which has an angiotensin converting enzyme-inhibiting action and an antihypertensive action and is obtained from a solution prepared by decomposing undaria with proteases S AMANO (R) and PROLEATHER (R) FG. <P>SOLUTION: The novel undaria peptide, i.e., a dipeptide, obtained by decomposing undaria with protease and the like and having a novel angiotensin converting enzyme-inhibiting action is L-isoleucyl-L-tyrosine and has an in-vivo antihypertensive action and a very low toxicity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
