PURPOSE:To improve the vibration-damping properties and reduce the sound or noise by incorporating a brominated flame retardant and a flame retardant aid comprising an Sb compound into a polyester resin consisting of a specified polytetramethylene terephthalate resin and a block polyester copolymer. CONSTITUTION:An amorphous polyester made from an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and a 5C or higher glycol and having a melting point of 100 deg.C or lower is thermally reacted with a thermoplastic polyester having a melting point of 150 deg.C or higher to give a block polyester copolymer whose maximum dynamic loss tangent is at least 0.05 and is present at a temperature between -20 deg.C and 40 deg.C. A resin component consisting of 90-20wt.% polytetramethylene terephthalate and 10-80wt.% of the obtained copolymer is then mixed with a brominated flame retardant represented by formula I (wherein X is Br; i and j are each 1 to 4; and n is 0 to 40) in an amount of 2-25wt.% based on the total composition, 1-10wt.% flame retardant aid comprising an Sb compound represented by formula II (wherein p is 0.4 to 0.9; and q is 0 to 4), 5-60wt.% fibrous reinforcing material, and an alkali metal salt, a phosphorus compound, and a magnesium and aluminum compound each in an appropriate amount to give the objective resin composition. |
