The invention relates to samarium compounds and to a process for preparing the same from samarium (III) acetylacetonate and organophosphonic acid, selected from diphenylphosphinic acid, diphenylthiophosphinic and diphenyldithiophosphinic acids which have non-corroding protective and semiconductors properties. The resulting compounds are partially soluble in organic compounds, insoluble in water and decompose at temperatures higher than 400 degree C. The synthesis of said compounds is made by refluxing the reactants for 2 h in an organic solvent selected from benzene, toluene, butanol, ethanol or chloroform.
