The system comprises a vehicle having an embarked telematic terminal (3) with a navigation system (4) coupled to a vehicle locating device (5) that delivers its geographical position and direction of movement and a central server. The terminal is linked by a multiplexed communications network to a central server (2) that transmits pertinent information about the state of the road network in front of the vehicle and the weather. An Independent claim is also included for a corresponding weather/traffic informing method implemented by the above system.
