PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reconcile reduction in size and cost and the enhancement of efficiency with respect to a linear motor and a linear compressor. SOLUTION: The linear motor comprises a stator 11 composed of fixed cores 33 which forms at least two magnetic poles and magnet wires 12 hooked on a fixed cores 13; and a moving unit 21 which is positioned inside the stator 11 and formed with bonding magnets 25 fixed to the outside of the stator 11. By reducing the mass of the magnets, the cost and size can be reduced, and further, the efficiency can be enhanced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
