Apparatus (2) for handling tonnes of grape material in a receptacle (22, 23) in which the receptacle is rotatable about a stationary support frame (3a, 3b) which rests on ground or equivalent supporting surface. Typically, a collar (20, 21) surrounds the receptacle and is pivoted to the support frame and a moving means such as a pair of space hydraulic rams (18, 19) is mounted between the collar and the support frame; operation of the rams tilts the receptacle in a controlled manner to move the receptacle between a first substantially upright position (L) and a second inclined position (R) in which the contents of the receptacle can be poured out.
