<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deterioration of the recording quality due to the over-recording operation in a recorder capable of over-recording the information with respect to a phase change type optical recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: Once or more than twice of the trial recording operations are performed with respect to the phase change type optical recording medium 2 before the normal recording operation is carried out, and at least one judgment value of a reflectance, signal amplitude value or asymmetry is acquired from reproduced signals of a 1st area whereon the information is once recorded and a 2nd area whereon the information is recorded more than twice, then in accordance with the acquired judgment value, at least one of recording power or recording strategy which the changing amount of the judgment value from the 2nd area with respect to the judgment value from the 1st area becomes within the specified range, is used at the normal recording operation in the recorder 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
