VIEWING RESTRICTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viewing restriction method for recording and reproducing contents for which viewer restriction information is set onto/from an optical recording medium.

SOLUTION: The viewing restriction method comprises: a stage of setting a password using a menu for restricting viewing of the contents, recording it in a preliminary region of a certain stream of the contents, and storing the contents in the optical recording medium; and a stage of reproducing the stored contents if a newly input password is identical to the password stored in the preliminary region of the certain stream of the contents. It is possible to prevent minors from viewing violent or sex-related materials by setting viewing restriction information or the password in a certain region of the contents during recording the contents or setting a viewing restricted section during recording the contents.
