PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a USB connector for preventing a jack and a plug from loosening and falling out even if there is oscillation or external force acts, and providing easy lock release if necessary, having excellent engagement characteristics. SOLUTION: A lock part 50 is provided on a shielding case 41, an engagement part 20 is provided on a shielding shell 16 so that the lock part 50 and the engagement part 20 are engaged when the plug 40 is inserted into the jack 15. It is also effective to provide a pair of lock part 50 on the wall of the shielding case 41. It is also effective to form the lock part 50 out of a flexible piece having a claw 51 on its front end, and the engagement part 20 out of a groove engaged with the claw. A housing 55 which holds the shielding case 41 is provided with a press member 58 having a protrusion 58a which is rotatably coupled thereto through a hinge and comes into contact with the flexible piece.
