PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing apparatus capable of reproducing information from an original reproduction interrupt position even when the reproduction of a read only medium is interrupted/restarted. SOLUTION: The recording medium reproducing apparatus capable of interrupting reproduction, unloading a recording medium, reinserting the recording medium and reproducing information from the reproduction interrupted position in the case of reproducing a recording medium 1 on which contents whose title comprises a plurality of PGC (program chains), a title number, a PGC number, and a cell number indicating a reproduction order in the PGC are recorded, includes: a means 22 for extracting ID information of the recording medium; a reproduction start position recording means 23 having a plurality of entries in which the interrupted position information including the ID information at the interruption, the cell number of the interrupted position, the PGC number, and the title number is recorded; and a means 24 receiving the ID information and for referencing the interrupted position information in the entry recording the ID information of the reproduction start position recording means to decide the reproduction start position.
