<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently form an image by realizing the optimization of a contact state between a developer supplying member and a developer carrying member and uniformly and stably supplying developer to the developer carrying member. <P>SOLUTION: The linear pressure that the developer supplying member 44 abuts on the developer carrying member 41 is set to 0.98 to 78.4 mN/mm. The surface of the developer carrying member is covered with an endless belt driven to crawl in a developer carrying direction, and the developer is carried on the endless belt.
