<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with high output and long life. <P>SOLUTION: A cylindrical lithium ion battery is manufactured in such a way that a positive electrode using lithium manganate in a positive active material and a negative electrode using amorphous carbon in a negative active material are wound through a separator to prepare a wound group, the wound group is impregnated with a nonaqueous electrolyte prepared by dissolving the specified concentration of LiPF<SB>6</SB>in a mixed solvent of ethylene carbonate and dimethyl carbonate, and housed in a battery container. The concentration of LiPF<SB>6</SB>in the mixed solvent is specified to 1.2 mol/liter or more but 1.6 mol/ liter or less. The amount of lithium ions enough for electrode reaction is ensured, and increase in viscosity of the nonaqueous electrolyte is suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
