<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the read picture quality of a black-and-white image in an image reader in which both a color image and the black-and-white image can be read. <P>SOLUTION: The image reader is equipped with a CCD 10 provided with an optical read means for color and an optical read means for black-and-white, and a BW correction circuit 12 for correcting image data read with the optical read means for black-and-white on the basis of image data read with the optical read means for color when images are read by that optical read means for black-and-white in the CCD 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
