PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for driving a solid-state imaging device by which the respective output values are coincident and synchronized output is generated without providing a circuit, etc., for independently controlling the respective output values regarding the solid-state image pickup element having two or more systems of output parts. SOLUTION: When two or more systems of the solid-state image pickup elements with different output characteristics are driven, reading pulse signals Pa, Pb, Pc at timing synchronized with the respective solid-state image pickup elements are generated, storage start pulse signals Pa', Pb', Pc' of timing at which time to the reading pulse signals Pa, Pb, Pc becomes the one in proportion upto transmissivity of light in the respective solid-state imaging devices are generated during cycles of the reading pulse signals Pa, Pb, Pc, output signals read by the storage start pulse signals Pa', Pb', Pc' are disregarded and only output signals read by the reading pulse signals Pa, Pb, Pc are outputted.
