PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a watch type portable electronic device whose multi- functioning and long-term use can be realized without making the main body part large in size, and whose battery exchange can be executed even while this device is mounted. SOLUTION: This watch type portable electronic device is provided with a main body part 2 whose case body 5 is equipped with a display part 7 or a control part 6, a battery part 3 having a battery housing case body 24 for housing a battery pack 26 and a cover body 25 for opening and closing a battery housing space 27 of the battery housing case body 24 for supplying a power to the main body part 2, and a belt 4 which connects the both opposite side faces of the case body 5 of the main body part 2, and is positioned at a place to make the battery part 3 face to the main body part 2.
