A process of producing a crystalline form of Efavirenz; wherein a saturated alkane solution of Efavirenz is rapidly crystallised. The crystalline form is characterised by an x-ray powder diffraction pattern comprising five or more 2è values selected from: 6.8±0.2, 9.2±0.2, 12.3±0.2, 16.2±0.2, 21.4±0.2, 22.7±0.2, 24.1±0.2, and 28.0±0.2.
