A method of coating is disclosed, wherein different thermosetting materials are deposited in two successive layers of powder form one upon the other on a substrate, the powders of the two layers have different cure-rates, while the layers are both in powder form, heat is applied to melt and fuse the powders into respective coatings bonded together on the substrate. Such coatings on a glass substrate are formed by laying down layers of different thermosetting materials one upon the other in powder form on surface. The powder of transparent bottom coating has a higher-cure rate than that of the top colour coating so that when heat is applied, top colour coating remains in the melt condition while the coating hardens, to bond with and enable rolling out onto the bottom coating, as well as bonding with a uppermost backing. Materials of different cure-rates are also used for bonding substrates together by bringing the two materials together while one is partly-cured and the other in the melt condition.
