PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a female terminal metal piece free of the risk of hitching at any other object during handling while the reverse insertion preventing function of the terminal metal piece is well maintained. SOLUTION: The female terminal metal piece 11 is structured so that a guide groove 15 recessed inward is formed in the axial direction in the upper wall 12b of an electrically contacting part 12, and thereby the section shape of the upper wall 12b of the electrically contacting part 12 is made different from that of the bottom wall 12a. Mating with the guide groove 15 a guide projection 25 protruding inward is formed at the inner wall upper part 22b of a cavity 22. When the female terminal metal piece 11 is to be inserted into the cavity 22, the guide groove 15 and guide projection 25 exert the reverse insertion preventing function. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
