Transdermally administered tolterodine as anti-muscarinic agent for the treatment of overactive bladder

A device for transdermal administration of R-tolterodine to a human being or animal in order to achieve an effect against overactive bladder and/or symptoms associated with this condition. The device has a release profile such that it provides a systemic level of R-tolterodine when an effect against overactive bladder is most desirable. Also detailed is the use of said R-tolerodine compound effective against overactive bladder in the preparation of a composition for transdermal administration, and a method for treating overactive bladder comprising the transdermal administration of said R-toerodine compound.
