COMPOSITION FOR ARTIFICIAL LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATE USING WASTE AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A composition for an artificial lightweight aggregate using waste and its preparation method are provided, which has an excellent mechanical strength and a low absorptance. CONSTITUTION: The composition comprises 4-45 parts by weight of the incinerated ash of paper sludge; 40-70 parts by weight of clay; 3-18 parts by weight of an additive; and optionally 5-35 parts by weight of coal ash and/or 5-35 parts by weight of the incinerated ash of sewage sludge. Preferably the additive is an alkali metal compound or an alkaline-earth metal compound. The method comprises the steps of mixing at least one waste selected from the incinerated ash of paper sludge, coal ash and the incinerated ash of sewage sludge with an additive and clay; filter pressing the mixture to prepare a filter cake; maturing the filter cake; firstly molding the filter cake to prepare the first molded product; secondly molding the filter cake to prepare the second molded product; drying the second molded product; sintering the dried one; and cooling the sintered body. Preferably the sintering is carried out at a temperature of 1,000-1,250 deg.C.
