Transmission utilizing a wormscrew commanded by electric motor. Speed of the motor shaft (1) entering the transmission reaches worm gear (9) and is translated to output shaft (2) by worm gear (10) using gears (7) and (8), which are parts of the worm gear cluster (5) (Design 1). In this case the shaft speed in entry is the same as the shaft speed in exit. When the wormscrew (6) begins to turn the worm gear cluster (5) in the same rotational sense, this turns the motor shaft, and the speed of the output shaft (2) begins to slow down. When the worm gear cluster (5) turns at the same speed as the motor shaft (1), there is no speed in exit, which means that the output shaft (2) doese not turn. The speed in exit of this transmission is regulated by regulating the turning speed of the worm gear cluster (5). The worm gear cluster (5) is turned by the wormscrew (6) which is commanded by an electric motor (23) (Design 2). The speed of the electric motor (23) is controlled by a computer (14), and the computer (14) is controlled by the gearstick (17). |
