<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of codes, making bigger a delay time controlled by an optical encoder without any relation to a period of a data signal, and comparing to a case of simply assuming a wavelength-list as a code. <P>SOLUTION: An optical coding method of a time spread and a wavelength hopping code generates an optical signal composed of an optical pulse train spreading a wavelength multiplexed optical pulse to time direction in response to a wavelength, by setting a maximum delay time controlled by an optical encoder 30 to archiving multiple number, and arranging a wavelength element as an optical coding element to a delay time group dividing the maximum delay time by a period unit of an incoming optical signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
