<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery which is improved in safety in the external destruction test or the like without sacrificing the battery performance. <P>SOLUTION: This is a battery which houses in a packaging body a flat lamination type battery element that laminates plural layers of a unit battery element comprising a flat-shape positive electrode made of a collector and an electrode material layer containing an active material, a flat-shape negative electrode made of a collector and an electrode material layer containing an active material, a separator, and an electrolyte. Out of the unit battery elements constituting the flat lamination type battery element, the thickness of the electrode material layer of at least one of the positive electrode and the negative electrode in the first unit battery element in which short-circuit of the positive electrode and negative electrode may happen firstly by an impact from the outside is made thinner than at least one of the thickness of the electrode material layer of the positive electrode and negative electrode in the unit battery elements other than the first unit battery element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
