PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device which can be manufactured with high yield. SOLUTION: A separation preventive layer 19A is provided between a front glass substrate 11 and a dielectric layer 20, and a separation preventive layer 19B is provided between the dielectric layer 20 and a protective layer 21. The separation preventive layer 19 is formed of a dielectric substance different from that of the dielectric layer 20 and improves the adhesion in a joining interface between the dielectric layer 20 and other components. The separation preventive layer 19 is formed of SiO<SB>2</SB>with an atomic density of≥6.1×10<SP>22</SP>atoms/cm<SP>3</SP>, and the thickness thereof is sufficiently small, for example,≤1/2, preferably≤1/10 of the thickness of the dielectric layer 20.
