PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multidirectional input device capable of restraining movement of an operation member unnecessary for a pertinent processing mode. SOLUTION: This multidirectional input device is provided with: an operation lever 6; a signal sending means for sending an electric signal in response to the movement of the operation lever 6; restriction members 4 and 5 movably installed for restricting the moving direction of the operation member 6; and driving means 3 and 4 for driving the restriction means 4 and 5. The restriction of the moving direction of the operation lever 6 and release of the restriction are carried out by moving the restriction members 4 and 5 according to an external input.
