PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a database updating method for a simulator capable of performing the transfer of a set value of a database on a user side without mistake. SOLUTION: The database of a simulator comprises a dictionary file for regulating a data area or data form and a data file for holding an actual value, so that the database of the simulator is updated by use of the dictionary file and the data file. Since the dictionary file is separated from the data file, the storage of the data file is sufficient for user data, and the data quantity can be thus minimized. Since the processing is simplified, the man-hour required for the formation of a transfer software for database can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
