<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and a system having a large capacity memory for which no battery power source is required. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is constituted by providing a hard disk 130 of a nonvolatile memory on a PCI (protocol control information) bus 170 inside a copying machine 100, storing pieces of parameter information to be stored in an SRAM (static RAM) 120 as a volatile memory by repeatedly transferring them to the hard disk 130 by using the number of copies, date or time as criteria and furthermore, transferring pieces of the parameter information to a host computer 140 when pieces of the parameter information exceeding reference capacity are stored in the hard disk 130. Thus, pieces of the parameter information of the copying machine 100 can easily be communicated with the host computer 140 via a LAN 180, in addition, enhancement of convenience when the host computer 140 uses pieces of the parameter information and reduction of a burden in maintenance and management of the copying machine 100 are realized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
