METHOD FOR RECORDING IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION, AND MULTILAYER OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recording identification data by which whether an optical recording medium is an original medium or copied medium is reliably identified when the optical recording medium is copied.

SOLUTION: In a multilayer optical recording medium 1, two layers of an L1 recording layer 3 and an L0 recording layer 5 on which recording data are recorded are stacked at least on one surface side of a substrate. Identification information for individually identifying the medium 1 is recorded on the medium 1. A distance W between both of a standard point P3b in the L1 recording layer 3 at a second position from the incident direction of a laser beam for reproduction or for recording, and a standard point P5b in the L0 recording layer 5 at a first position from the incident direction is acquired. Distance information which can specify the acquired distance W is recorded as the identification information.
