<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle approach detection device capable of warning by surely detecting the approach of vehicles with a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle approach detection device comprises a transmitting and receiving means 12 transmitting range finding signals to the plurality of vehicles and receiving the reflected signals of the range finding signals reflected by the vehicles, a distance calculating means 28 calculating distances to the plurality of vehicles based on the transmission timing of the range finding signals to the plurality of vehicles and the receiving timing of the reflected waves, a speed calculation means 11 calculating the speeds of the plurality of vehicles based on the amount of variation in calculated distances up to the vehicles, and an approach determination means 11 displaying warning displays on a specified display means Dsp when determining that the plurality of vehicles approach each other based on the calculated distances and speeds.
