PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetron which can reliably join a filament with hats on both ends for characteristic improvement, and a method for manufacturing the magnetron. SOLUTION: Through holes 3a and 4a are formed in the top hat 3 and the end hat 4, respectively, one end 2a and the other end 2b of the filament 2 are located in the through holes 3a and 4a, a liquid brazing filler metal 5 is dripped from the through holes 3a and 4a, and one end 2a and the other end 2b are joined by brazing with the top hat 3 and the end hat 4, respectively.
