PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary switch rotatable with nearly equivalent force regardless of a rotation direction. SOLUTION: This rotary switch is provided with a fixed armature 2 fixed to an insulating seating (one end face-opened case) 1, and a rotating armature 3 rotated in both rotating directions and capable of being contacted to and separated from the armature 2. One contact 4a out of contacts 4 and 4a formed on the armature 3 is allowed to run on an insulating projecting part 7 formed on the seating 1 with inclined faces 5 and 6 formed at both ends through the inclined face 5 or 6. The contact 4a is formed at a tip of a one-side sloping arm 8 formed along its specific rotating direction (the arrow direction in Figs. 1 and 3) in the armature 3. The inclined face 5 in the rotating direction (the arrow direction in Figs. 1 and 3) for stretching the arm 8 within the inclined faces 5 and 6 is formed gently as compared with the other inclined face 6. Both side faces of the contact 4a is so inclined at a nearly equal angle as to easily run on the inclined faces 5 and 6.
