PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical recording medium for suppressing thickness nonuniformity in the case of spin-coating of resin materials that form an intermediate layer, etc., and suppressing thickness nonuniformity in particular even when sputter flakes exist. SOLUTION: A first substrate which is of an almost disk shape with a center hole at the center and has a recessed and projecting shape on one face is formed. A first optical recording layer is formed on the surface of the first substrate which has the recessed and projecting shape. Resin 21a to form an intermediate layer is supplied to the center part of an almost circular sheet- shaped second substrate 20 with no center hole at the center. Spin-coating is performed, the stamper 22 is pasted together to cure the resin, and the stamper 22 is peeled off to transfer a recessed and projecting shape. A second optical recording layer is formed on the obtained recessed and projecting shape formation surface, and a center hole is opened at the center of the second substrate. The first optical recording layer side of the first substrate and the second optical recording layer side of the second substrate are pasted together with a pasting layer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
