METHOD FOR ASSIGNING PILOT CARRIERS IN OFDM ACCESS SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for assigning pilot carriers in an OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) access system is provided to minimize the collision between subscribers by connecting the subscribers to the sub channel in a predetermined time interval. CONSTITUTION: An OFDM communication system includes a plurality of terminals and a base station to connect the terminals to the base station through one or more sub channels. A method for assigning pilot carriers in an OFDM access system includes a connecting process and an assigning process. The connecting process is to connect the terminals to the corresponding sub channels in a predetermined time interval. The OFDM communication system assigns available pilot carriers to the corresponding sub channels. The time interval is defined equally or randomly.
