Illuminated syringe tip and handpiece assembly

An illuminated syringe tip handpiece assembly includes a plastic syringe tip mounted in an adaptor for connection to a handpiece. On the interior of the adaptor at a location adjacent the end of the syringe tip, a source of light is provided. Light from the light source will be transmitted down the length of the syringe tip and emitted from the end thereof. By positioning the end of the syringe tip in the patient's oral cavity, the dentist can provide illumination in the oral cavity so that various dental functions can be more easily and accurately performed.
