<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission system provided to a wireless base station for mobile communication, capable of stabilizing a frequency of a radio wave emitted by each slave station by transmitting a pilot signal to each slave station from a master station together with a data signal and stopping transmission of the pilot signal when no data signal to be sent exists to reduce the power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The master station 100 performs preliminary modulation of modulating the pilot signal 104 by a data signal 103 wherein that is, the pilot signal 104 is outputted when the data signal 103 stays in a mark period and no pilot signal 104 is outputted when the data signal 103 resides in a space period before optical modulation. Each of slave stations 201 to 203 demodulates an obtained electric signal after optical demodulation and separates it into the data signal 103 and the pilot signal 104. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
