PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that colors within a monitor color reproduction area can match in the manner of sensations but the colors on a boundary of the monitor color reproduction area are not mapped as sharp colors in that case. SOLUTION: In the image processing method for mapping and converting image data in the first color reproduction area expressed with a first color specification system into a second color reproduction area expressed with the same color specification system as said color specification system, image data in a first Most Saturated color in first color reproduction are mapped into second Most Saturated in the second color reproduction area.
