PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating roller with temperature rise quick, of high energy efficiency and excellent durability, of which, a coating of a heating element will not be easily peeled off from a roller and a manufacturing cost of the roller is especially low. SOLUTION: With the roll heater with heating elements formed in a given pattern on the outer face of a hollow tube 1 and with its outer face coated with an overcoat glass 3, the tube 1 is structured from a heat-resistant crystallized glass with a beta-spodumene type microcrystal of an extremely small thermal expansion coefficient precipitated in a glass of a special composition molded in a tube shape put under a high-temperature treatment, and the heating element 2 is a silver thin film formed by printing silver paste consisting of a metallic silver powder containing flake silver powder, glass frit and a binder on the tube in a given pattern and baking it at high temperature.
